Not a bad place. Has some really good gyro. I never had been there before and I had never ever had a gyro before but, if you have never had gyro before defiantly have to try this place out.

pretty average. greek salad was nothing special. I had the gyro platter and there was virtually NO onion on it and what there was was cut up almost like a dice. Tsatziki was marginal. Worst of all was the price. $34 for the 2 of us. we shared a greek salad, I had the gyro platter and wife had spinach pie and we had 2 bottles of water. Drive a few miles and come up to Port Charlotte to Olympia. Far better and no more expensive. One and done w/ Nellys.

We love this place and always find the food fresh and tasty. Best Greek we have found around!

Don't go there! Worst than fast food with very rude owners and very young and not brite staff!!!

I come here often, don't be fooled by the fast food joint setup, the food is very good the place is always very clean. You can see the food prep area which is also very clean . All I eat here is the gyro platter so I can't vouch on the other food items but the gyro platter is a large portion size, very filling and taste good. The owner Nelly is a very sweet lady and always smiling which is always a plus.

Ordered at 1:05 - received food at 1:50. Decent food but the wait was WAY too long for take out food.

Very polite service, gyro meat was very tasty but way too salty. Tzatziki lacked any garlic and cucumber taste. Soft drinks were served with a bottle and no offer of cups or ice. This place is in a dying location and most store fronts are empty. Just a little effort by the owner in both pride in food and decor would go a long way. I suspect owner is burned out or resistant to change

Great - everything!! The gyro sandwich and Greek salad are our go-to s. Better than almost any other place in U.S. We'll be back whenever we're in town.

CAPE CORAL , FLORIDA Just dropped in to grab a bite at Nelly's as I had a taste for some Gyros. Found Nelly's on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I must say, I am from Chicago where we are spoiled with many fine Greek restaurants with great Greek food. Nelly's Gyros were ok , but not great. The meat was somewhat dry. It was absent that little bit of juice that is found in Gyros in Chicago. That said, the Gyros was tasty and if I can't find something better in the Fort Myers area , I will be back the next time I feel like eating some Gyros. Nelly's is not a big restaurant and there were not many customers there during my visit. Maybe that is why there was only ONE spit of Gyros. For that reason the wait time for my Gyros plate was several minutes. Sorry, but I'm spoiled. In Chicago, even the fast food Gyros joints have several spits going simultaneously resulting in quicker service. Nelly's is located in a little mall with free parking available right in front.

I love this place. And you know you're in for a good food every time. The portions are good. And the staff is nice.

There are not too many restaurant where I can honestly say wow at the cleanliness. This place is spotless , the open view kitchen is cleaner than most hones I've been in. The food is excellent, meat and veggies were extremely fresh. I will definitely be back.

Good food at good price..the hummus platter is awesome! The place is small and the hours are short, but well worth it..My husband gets the gyro and loves it..I get a vegan or vegetarian dish..

This place is way over priced for what you get. The food is gross looking. They pull meat out of a warmer that looks like road kill. My husband was the only one eating here because I was grossed out. For 1 person to eat was $19.00! This place has lost its mind. We will not be returning.

Love this place. It's a family operation so you know your food is fresh. It does take time from when you order to when you receive your food but I'm not in a hurry. The food is worth the wait. If your in a hurry there's a Mikie D's in the area go for it!!

We've eaten here a lot. Their traditional gyro and their chicken pita are excellent. We also love the olive spread with pita appetizer but half the time we come here, they're out of it.

Best Greek in town! Fresh, tasty ... everything's made from scratch! Tzatziki (Yogurt) sauce is best I've had since Greece! Will be back and glad to have something local that's authentic!

I drove past this place a couple of weeks ago and filed it away in the back of my brain. Today I finally had the chance to try it out. I drove up to the place not knowing if it was open. There were no cars except for one parked on the side of the building. I walked in and the place was empty and a little dark. But like others here have said, it's super clean, and the furniture was neat. I was then greeted by whom I can only assume was Nelly. I asked for suggestions as to what was good, and I was informed that everything was good. She obviously takes pride in her work. I ordered a Gyro plate and some tea. Everything about it was great. I've never been a fan of tzatziki, but I was wanting another cup of their's for this meal. The meal came with fries and I didn't see any catsup around. I found that it didn't need it. The tomatos were also fresh and flavorful. Now I mentioned that the place was empty when I arrived. When I left, there were people streaming in. It's apparently quite popular with the locals. Can't wait to go back.

Omg.... I need 10 stars for Nelly's. My husband and I went there for lunch today. We both had gyro pitas and then split a piece of spinich pie. Thats usually how I can tell if Greek food is good or not, the spinich pie. This was amazing. Fresh and wonderful. Then our gyro pitas came. Awesome is an under statement. We loved it so much I wanted to go back tonight and eat there for dinner. Super clean. A small little place that we just kind of fell upon and so glad we did. I can't wait to go back.

Great authentic Greek food. Their hummus is so tasty, as well as their Greek salad dressing. Everything is super fresh.

I was a reporter for the local newspaper in the area and I had to write a review about Nelly's Taste of Greece. Ever since, I've gone back. Nelly, who is the main chef/cook, was born and raised in a small town in Greece. Something that is noticeable when you talk to her and notice her accent. Like stated in the previous review, her kitchen is impeccable. You can eat off the floor in that place. Nelly also has authentic greek pastries, which she makes herself. There are also Greek drinks and beers. I currently live in Miami and I've had other "authentic" Greek food from multiple area restaurants, but Nelly's gyros are still the best. Nelly said the secret to making a good Gyro is in the sauce. She said most restaurants use sour cream instead of using Greek yogurt because it's cost effective. Something I noticed as soon as I did a comparison. Nelly's menu has over 10 different type of Gyros, salads, pitas and other Greek dishes with vegetarian options. They used to have 3 gyros for the price of 2 on Mondays and Tuesdays. I don't know if that is still going on. The Good: The food is authentic and delicious. It can be a bit expensive, but Nelly uses quality authentic ingredients. The place is impeccably clean. The bad: It can get costly. The ambiance/decor could be better.

One star is more than they deserve. My fiance and I went In there a few days ago. I noticed none of the other reviews are that current.... So we went in and they were absolutely rude. They took our order and didn't even ask if we wanted drinks. So I politely asked for a sprite and they looked at me like I was an idiot. When we finally got the food..... 45 minutes and 40$ later.... It was wrong. They refused to fix it. I ordered a spanakopita and they gave me a gyro.... Completely different things. They then swore that I ordered a gyro... On my receipt they charged for the spanakopita which is more expensive and they told me if I wanted a spanakopita that I would have to pay for that on top of the one I already paid for. Food Was also very bland. We love Greek food. We visited Greece a year ago and absolutely fell in love with the food and culture. This place is not representing Greece very well. Needless to say we will not be returning here.

Great food the only Greek restaurant in Cape Coral

We had Zesty Gyro and Traditional Gyro. Both were very good. I will go back again and try other things.

Wow! I happened in to this new Greek restraurant yesterday and all I can say is GREAT! The space is brand new and clean as can be. The open kitchen looked as spic and span as any restaurant I've seen in quite a while. Nelly herself took our orders at the counter. The Gyro sandwiches were excellent. Meat with just the right crisp edges and moist center. Fresh pita, fresh veggies, and outstanding tahini sause that wasn't too garlicy. Greek salads were also very fresh, with just the right amount of dressing and wonderful feta. Only even slight "negative" is the price... our order of two sandwiches, drinks and side salads was $24. But, given the food quality the value for money ratio is about right. We will definitely be back!
